paleoecology of the kalat formation’s shale units based on ostracods in the kopet dagh basin - chahchaheh section (khorasan razavi)
Authors
abstract
the kalat formation is one of units in the kopet dagh sedimentary basin and so far have been studied by other fossils (case study) (palynomorphs, calcareous nanoplankton and foraminifera). according to the important ostracoda in diagnosis paleoecology and paleoenvironment, in this study, investigated ostracoda in shale units of the kalat formation in chahchaheh section have been studied for the first time. the kalat formation is 115 meter thick in this section and lithologically, it is mainly composed of limestone, sandy limestone and shale. in this study, 44 samples collected from shale units and 30 genera are recognized as well as 44 species of ostracoda. according to the recognized ostracoda, we can consider warm and shallow sedimentary environment with low to high oxygen and fluctuation in rate of sedimentation during deposition of shale units.

calcareous nannofossils in boundary of tirgan and sarcheshmeh formations at qalezo section have been studied. this section is situated in the west of kopet-dagh basin. in this study 35 nannoplankton species of 17 genera were identified. according to the first occurrence of index species and fossil assemblages two calcareous nannofossil biozones (cc7-cc8) of sissingh (1997) have been recognized....

This study presents the nannostratigraphy and nannofossil events in the lower boundary of Kalat Formation in the East and West of the Kopeh- Dagh basin. The Kalat Formation comprises of coarse grained detritus limestone with subordinate sandstone intercalations. In the current study, six sections have been chosen in the East and West of the basin which are as follow: Dobaradar section, Kalat se...
full textQuantitative analysis, basin evolution and paleoecology of Early Miocene ostracods in the southwest of Kerman, Iran
This paper focuses on the quantitative analyses of Early Miocene ostracods in south and north of the Sirjan area, southwest of Kerman. Detailed studies resulted in identification of 23 species of ostracoda. The coexisting benthic foraminifera and comparing the identified microfauna assemblages with previous studies confirms the Early Miocene age for the strata. The quantitative analysis show a ...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Investigating the paleoecological characteristics of Abtalkh Formation at Bahadorkhan Section (Central Kopet-Dagh) based on planktonic and benthic foraminifera
Study of a late Late Santonian to Late Campanian hemipelagic succession from Abtalkh Formation at the Bahadorkhan section (Central Kopet-Dagh) enabled us to verify paleoecology changes based on planktonic and benthic foraminifera assemblage. Bahadorkhan section is consisted of calcareous shale, lime marl, marl, and a few dispersed chalky limestone beds. Upper and lower boundaries of Abtalkh For...
